What am I raising money for?
Funds raised during the event support Chicago Children’s Museum’s community access initiatives serving Chicagoland children. Your donations provide playful learning opportunities through programs such as Museums for All, Play for All, Arts Programming, and STEM Hands-On Programming. Learn more below!
-
MUSEUMS FOR ALL welcomes families experiencing food insecurity to attend the museum at a steeply discounted price. Museums for All serves an average of 4,000 to 6,000 visitors each month.
-
PLAY FOR ALL programming addresses the unique learning perspectives of children with different abilities, whether those differences are cognitive, sensory, or physical. The program stems from the belief that all individuals, including children, experience the world through a variety of dimensions, identities, and characteristics, all of which enhance a rich and diverse museum experience.
-
ART experiences at the museum are thoughtfully designed to be playful, child-centered explorations that foster creativity, self-expression, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These experiences include daily art-making opportunities led by museum educators and Chicago based artists; engaging cultural performances that showcase Chicago’s talented and diverse community; and a variety of permanent interactive art installations that shape the museum’s environment into one of imaginative play.
-
S T E M Chicago Children’s Museum’s innovative, hands-on programming fosters an excitement for science with ongoing quality STEM exhibits that cultivate the wonder, observation, and discovery that exist naturally in children. STEM programs are inherent in our Skyline and Tinkering Lab exhibits.
