Arts Learning ArtReach Intern
The interns’ primary responsibility will be working with Arts Learning staff organizing, implementing and documenting the ArtReach program. ArtReach is an 8 week program for Chicago Children’s Museum partners which focuses on the connections between art and literacy, introduces various art processes, and provides a time and space for families to learn and collaborate together. Interns will work closely with Arts Learning staff to develop, prepare and lead at least one ArtReach workshop. Interns also assist in keeping the studio organized and preparing supplies for workshops. Interns record attendance and assist Arts Learning staff in record keeping. Interns are involved with other programs/special projects on an expressed interest/need basis. Interns need to be available on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 1-7:30pm.
Requirements: Education experience with elementary-aged children, flexibility, organizational skills, ability to communicate with and lead groups of people, photography experience, creativity

Family Programs Science/Music Intern
The Family Programs Music Assistant will learn about museum programs for families by preparing, facilitating, and evaluating scheduled hands-on activities for the public and organizing materials, brainstorming ideas, and working alongside museum staff. The Intern will be responsible for creating an original, quirky, and fun hands-on family program that connects music and physical science concepts and assisting in the coordination of science and music events on Monday, October 11th and Thursday, November 11th.
Requirements: Interpersonal skills, creativity, proven ability to organize projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience working with children and families, knowledge of computer systems (word processing, desktop publishing), flexibility, team player, music and/or science background is a plus

Passport to the World Internship
The Passport to the World (PPTW) intern will work closely with the Director of Cultural programs to develop programs and activities that educate CCM visitors on a wide range of diverse communities and cultures. The intern is also responsible for documenting the impact of program participation through photos, interviews, and collection of artifacts. There will also be an opportunity for the intern to assist in the logistics and operations of the PPTW events during the internship.
Requirements: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), experience or interest in working with diverse people, available to work some weekends and evenings.

Health and Wellness Internship
The Health and CC intern will work closely with the Community Programs Manager and the CC, Education, Marketing, and Development teams to review and research health and wellness initiatives as relates to museum, revise and/or develop events/activities, and assist w/the plan to execute these events/activities. This intern will support planning of Health and Wellness evening at CCM.

Community Connections Intern
The CC Intern will be responsible for compiling and analyzing attendance and impact data for Community Connections to create a report on CCM’s community engagement approach, researching and communicating CCM’s access opportunities to community-based organizations in identified communities, supporting the Community Connections team in meeting attendance goals on Free Family Nights and communicating with various CCM departments to ensure effective internal collaboration.

Student & Educator Programs Intern
Chicago Children’s Museum (CCM) has partnered with various Chicago institutions and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to implement a school-based initiative designed to support science education for teachers of students grades K-3. This program provides CPS educators with professional development, a comprehensive science curriculum, and a science field experience to CCM. The SEP Intern will support the team to develop and implement the E2SP Program.
Requirements: Experience working with students and educators; curriculum development and facilitation preferred, Interest and/or experience in working with low-income and diverse communities, Excellent communication skills, Ability to work independently, Ability to multi-task in order to meet deadlines for multiple projects; excellent time management, Experience and/or interest in analyzing data, Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
